Some people think that people who don't vote are apathetic, or clueless, or are disrespecting democracy, etc... But the truth is that many who don't vote care very deeply and use non-participation as a means of being the change in the world that they wish to see. Some would say that if you ignore politicians and bureaucrats, you take away their power. So if you think that government is too powerful and intrudes too much into your life, then one way out might be to simply stop voting. If enough people stop voting their power will be stripped, and then pretty soon you may not be able to tell a politician from a crazy homeless person yelling nonsense in the street.
